Authenticator app
Administrators must use Apple Passwords, Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, or another app that supports verification codes.
Authenticator setup is optional for standard accounts. Without it, a new or unrecognized browser asks for a 6-digit code sent to your email.

Each code works once if you lose access to your authenticator. These codes are shown only now. Keep them in your password manager or another private location.
Verify your identity
Verification lasts 10 minutes and is required before sensitive changes. A passwordless account can sign out and sign in again, or set up a password first.
Signed-in devices
After authenticator verification, this browser is remembered for 30 days. Active web sign-ins last up to 7 days. A new browser, cleared cookies, or an expired remembered-device approval will require the authenticator again.
